Angourie Blue & Green Pools in Yamba Australia. Just south from Byron Bay we stopped at these pools to check out the view. These pools were once a rock quarry that sprung a leak…a freshwater spring leak that filled the quarry & so it was abandoned. It has since become a popular swimming hole, however it wasn’t in the cards for us to have a dip as the spring is freshwater & it is prone to algae growth. As beautiful & inviting as they looked there was a posted sign to be aware of dangerous algae growth in the green pool. We chose to observe restraint & declined a dip. We still had a fun time exploring the beauty of the pools & their close proximity to the stunning coastline & juxtaposed rocky boulders teaming with hidden crabs in the crevices. ?
