Coff’s Harbour Dolphin Conservation Center

We visited the dolphin marine conservation center in Coff’s Harbour. It was such a nice small animal sanctuary that we really enjoyed. Although it is much smaller than other animal conservation parks it does not lack anything. The workers there are so friendly & really allow the visitors to the park to observe the way the animals are treated, fed, & taken care of. It was interesting to see how they train the animals to become welcoming to their marine veterinarian checkups. They explain & showed us how we were to only observe the animals natural behaviors & if the dolphins wanted to come to you they would if they didn’t so be it. We put our hands in the dolphin pool & they would come to you if they wanted to & would allow you to pat or belly rub them. Sebastian & Lexi were called up to help the trainers at one point which they loved & they even got to observe the blue fairy penguins at feeding time & the penguin keeper let them each feed the penguins some fish. They were in love. ??? we also had to stop at the big banana for lunch ? yes we had hamburgers with grilled bananas. Weird but surprisingly very good!
