Mae Nam Beach fun & The Hut

/

Mae Nam Beach & The Hut for lunch? We went to a new beach today on the north side of the island of Koh Samui. We were hoping to find a nice beach that had soft sand and no jelly fish, and that we did! It was a beautiful beach with very few people and just the quiet warm breeze and ocean waves lapping across the sandy beach. We spent a few hours here soaking up the sun and playing together. The kids snorkeled and lazed about. We were all a little apprehensive of the water, as if you remember the last beach trip we had in Koh Samui ended with us all receiving hundreds of small jellyfish or jellyfish larvae stings. This time around, I was prepared! I brought with us tweezers and a jug of vinegar which is what the locals have told us you must use to help diffuse the stings venom. You are not to rub the skin, you are to carefully help the stung person out of the water…so you don’t transfer or touch any of the stings to you as well and to help make sure the victim is safe from additional attacks and or possible drowning if they panic from the pain. Luckily our stings on the previous beach were just “baby” stings but nonetheless it made us all a little bit nervous of the ocean. We stayed near the shore at Mae Nam just to be safe and sure, little by little we became less reserved as we went hours with not so much as an inkling of being stung. Maybe it was because I was prepared this time ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyway, we spent a few hours here very happy and more & more relaxed.

With our souls refreshed and our bellies growing hungry we decided that it was time for a very late lunch or early dinner. We decided to return to one of our newly discovered favorite restaurants, The Hut which is located in Fisherman’s Village. This unassuming, small, casual restaurant is just what our appetites were craving. The kids ordered their usual fresh fruit smoothies and we all choose our favorite Thai fare, while we waited for our meals we played a little UNO which of course, Lexi won as usual, just as our healthy, filling meals arrived and they were of course delicious as usual!!
