Goodbye Koh Samui, Thailand

/

Our last day on Koh Samui found us exploring the steepest road yet for a view, coconut picking monkeys, a rain storm, the snake stone pagoda temple, a beautiful view & a delicious restaurant on Nathon beach called Lucky…where we had the best pad Thai yet & spicy curry with roti. Koh Samui was very good to us ?? sad to say goodbye!

What about the monkeys you say??…..are they just cheap labor?…..yes cheap & efficient labor…male monkeys can safely pick up to 1600 coconuts a day, the female monkey about 600 & a human only about 80…the monkeys are trained at a Buddhist inspired school (no force or violence used) on Koh Samui where they are then adopted out to an individual farmer who then takes care of the monkeys as if they are household members. They say the monkeys develop a bond with the owners & are protective of the family not unlike a family dog. ??
